BAHRAIN TENDER: Sewage treatment plant at Muharraq

The previously published deadline 21 June 2008 for submitting the Expressions of Interest (EOI) was published in error. Interested parties can continue to submit their EOI until the issuance of Request for Qualification (RFQ).
It is expected that the successful bidder/private developer will build, own and operate the Muharraq sewage treatment plant (STP) that will be tendered to the international market in line with previous limited recourse project financed transactions in Bahrain.
The Muharraq STP will be implemented in accordance with the provisions of a sewage treatment agreement with the Ministry of Works which is expected to have a term of not less than 25 years.
Following the submission of EOIs, the Government of Bahrain expects to issue a Request for Qualification (RFQ) document in late July 2008 in which it will invite statements of prequalification from interested parties. Request for proposals (RFP) for the Muharraq STP will be issued to developers in accordance with the Bahrain Tender Law.
