The special report will include detailed analysis of the kingdom’s budget and the allocations made to each sector of the economy, as well as a review of the governments accounts from 2011.
Education, health and social affairs are key areas of focus in the 2012 budget with plans to build 742 schools and 17 new hospitals. The special report includes features on the education and healthcare sectors in the kingdom.
Also in December, King Abdullah reshuffled several key government officials, including the governor of the central bank. The special report will examine the reasons behind the changes and the potential impact.
Saudi Arabia is expected to ease restrictions soon on direct ownership in its stock exchange (Tadawul) in a bid to boost liquidity on the bourse, with reports that market participants have already been told of the imminent change.
