Aramco opens bidding for Dhahran pipe upgrade
State-run energy giant Saudi Aramco is inviting 13 companies to bid for the contract to upgrade the acid gas piping system at its Shedgum gas-processing plant, 135 kilometres southwest of Dhahran in Eastern Province.The bid deadline is 13 July. Work includes the installation of four pipelines linking the gas-treating and sulphur-recovery units. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) is one of the most active state energy firms in the region, with plans for more than $28bn worth of oil and gas-related projects due to be awarded in 2009 and the first quarter of 2010, according to Gulf projects tracker MEED Projects. -
