The MEED PPP Forum, which sets the scene for the 4th annual Arabian World Construction Summit (AWCS), was opened in Abu Dhabi this morning by Ernst & Young’s head of infrastructure and PPP advisory Services Abraham Akkawi.
Speakers include Rania Zayed, managing director of Musharaka Consultancy and previously head of the PPP unit within Egypt’s Finance Ministry; Kilpatrick Townsend partner Thomas Wilson; Strabag director of international projects Gerhard Urschitz; Macquarie Capital senior vice president Matt Tate and Mott MacDonald Middle East project and cost management division director David Greenhalgh.
The afternoon session begins with a presentation from Currie & Brown director and industry leader for PPP Mark Baird. Emil Rademeyer from MEED will moderate a panel discussion about tracking cost fluctuations with Davis Langdon program cost consultancy director Lionel Dore and Currie & Brown UAE managing director Brian Schofield. Ernst & Young infrastructure advisory executive director Stephen Watson will deliver a presentation about payment mechanisms in social infrastructure PPP projects.
