GE/Techint wins Kureimat 3
Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) has awarded a joint venture of US-based General Electric (GE) and Italy's Techint the contract to supply and install two gas turbines on the 750-MW Kureimat 3 power project.EEHC has also opened the financial offers for the plant's civil works package. Four local companies bid for the contract Arab Contractors, Orascom Construction Industries, Petrojet and El-Nasr General Contracting Company. An award is due by March 2007.Four companies bid to provide and install two heat recovery steam generators for the plant. They are Belgium's CMI, Netherlands-based NEM, France's Alstom and Italy's Ansaldo. Technical offers will be opened in January.
