The office of Hani Hussain, managing director and deputy chairman of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), has denied media reports that he will retire early from the job and leave the company in March.

While Hussain, who has been in the job for less than three years, has made it clear he plans to leave KPC, he is not expected to do so until August when his current contract expires.

No names have been officially linked as a replacement, but potential candidates include Hisham al-Refai, deputy managing director for Project Kuwait at Petroleum Development Company, Jamal al-Nouri, managing director for international marketing at KPC, and Hatem al-Awadhi, executive assistance for projects at Kuwait National Petroleum Company.
