India's Punj Lloyd has won the contract to build theethylene pipeline from Ras Laffan to Mesaieed. The client is Qatar Chemical Company II (Q-Chem II).
Under the terms of the estimated $45 million contract, Punj Lloyd will install the140-kilometre-long pipeline, which will be used to transport ethylene from the Ras Laffan Olefins Company complex to downstream units in Mesaieed. The contract will last just over a year (MEED 2:2:07).
It is the second major pipeline award for the Indian contractor in the region in recent weeks.
In mid-April, it was awarded a $126 million engineering, procurement and construction contract for the Saih Rawl-Mukhaizna pipeline in Oman (MEED 20:3:07).
