Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (Adco) has increased the number of prequalified contractors for the first phase of the Sahil, Asab and Shah full field development.

Those submitting applications include Paris-based Technip, Italy's Snamprogetti, UAE-based Petrofac International, the local National Petroleum Construction Company, South Korea's SK Engineering & Construction, Spain's TR with Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC), and the US' Stone & Webster with Dubai-based Dodsal.

A shortlist of prequalifiers is expected to be issued soon, with tenders for the engineering, procurement and construction portion of the estimated $1,300 million-1,500 million project due in August.

Adco is understood to have increased the number of contractors, after some firms said they were unable to take part because of heavy workloads (MEED 18:5:07).

The project will significantly increase crude production capacity from the three fields.
