Etisalat wins network contract
Etisalat has won a contract to provide fixed-line networks to four major new developments in Abu Dhabi emirate.
Abu Dhabi's Higher Corporation for Specialised Economic Zones (Zonescorp) signed a memorandum of understanding with Etisalat to implement networks for Al-Ain Industrial City, and the three other industrial cities.
Zonescorp is the first large commercial contract Etisalat has won since the UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority ended its mono-poly over fixed-line telecoms in July.
Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (Du) can now compete with Etisalat in fixed-line networks.
