Sonatrach wins gas deal
State oil company Sonatrach has signed a long-term agreement to supply Energias de Portugal (EDP) with up to 1,600 million cubic metres a year of natural gas. The deal gives Sonatrach a 25 per cent stake in the development of three EDP combined-cycle power plants and a place on EDP's supervisory board. It is subject to approval by the companies' boards. Sonatrach bought 2 per cent of EDP
in April.
