India's Larsen & Toubro has been awarded contracts worth RS10.6bn ($267m) to build substations and transmission lines in Oman and the UAE.
The company won a $105m contract from the Al-Ain Distribution Company to design and build five 33/11kV substations in the UAE city. UK-based PB Power is the consultant on the project.
Under a $89m contract, it will also strengthen the transmission network at Oman's Seeb International Airport. The project includes the construction of a new 220/132/33kV substation.
A second Omani order worth $27m involves the strengthening of the transmission system in the Sohar industrial area.
Larsen & Toubro will complete the projects in 15 months. The client is the Oman Electricity Transmission Company. Serbia's Energoprojekt Entel is the consultant.
