Arabi Enertech bids low for Kuwait petrochemicals contract

The local Arabi Enertech is low bidder at KD6.9m ($24.6m) for a long-term contract to provide maintenance services to facilities operated by state-owned Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC).

Nine other local contractors bid for the work, with the second best price of KD8.4m ($30m) submitted by ABJ Engineering & Contracting Company. An award is expected to be made in the near future.

The scope of works covers the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil maintenance of PIC's plants. The company has a polypropylene facility and two fertiliser units in the Shuaiba industrial area.
