
Pipeline will link Iraqi Kurdistan oil fields with Bazian refinery in Suleimaniyah
Qaiwan Group is prequalifying engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies to bid on a pipeline linking its Bazian refinery in Suleimaniyah with the Taq Taq and Bina Bawi oil fields in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq.
The company has received prequalification documents from interested companies and is preparing to draw up a shortlist before tendering the EPC contract.
Frances Technip has completed the front-end engineering and design (feed) for the 125,000 barrel-a-day (b/d), 110-kilometre pipeline. The company also completed the feed on the expansion of the Bazian refinery.
The project will increase the capacity of the facility to 84,000 b/d from 34,000 b/d.
