Tallest mosque planned for capital
The Religious Affairs & Endowments Ministry has received prequalification applications from about 20 international companies for the design and construction supervision on the project to build the grand mosque in Algiers. Invitations to bid are due out imminently. The project calls for the construction of a prayer room for 40,000 worshippers, a plaza to house another 80,000 people, a 15,000-seat auditorium for conferences and a postgraduate school in Islamic studies and humanities. ...
