Algerian government seeks Berber rapprochement

The Algerian government moved on 31 May to improve relations with the Berber minority, with newly-appointed Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia - himself Berber - visiting local leaders in the troubled Kabylie region to seek an end to violence between locals and government forces.
