Algerian troops kill rebels
Local security forces have in the last two weeks killed about 150 suspected rebels from the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), it was reported on 29 September. The raids on GSPC strongholds in the mountains near Setif, 300 kilometres east of Algiers, form part of an ongoing operation by the government against the rebel group. (MEED 16:6:03).
