Saudi gov't to pay half of Saudi students' college fees

Saudi culture and information minister Abdul Aziz Khoja has announced that the government will pay 50% of tuition fees for Saudis studying at private colleges and universities in the kingdom, Arab News has reported. The decision aims to encourage Saudi students to enroll in private colleges and parallel education facilities in the kingdom, rather than opting for those in other Arab countries. 'This concession will be available for five years from the date of this decision and will be reviewed later by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Higher Education,' Khoja said.
