EU considers debt relief
The EU is considering debt relief on the estimated $10,000 million owed to it by Algiers. Italian ambassador to Algeria, Romualdo Bettini, said on 9 July that the issue would be complicated and take time to tackle, but that Algerian government proposals were being studied.
