Islamic militants kill 13 people

Armed Islamic militants killed 13 people at a fake roadblock on 7 April near the town of Larbaa, 30 kilometres south of Algiers. The militants ambushed five vehicles travelling on the road between Larbaa and Tablat in the Medea region. The attackers opened fire on the vehicles and then set them ablaze.Around 50 people have been killed in violence involving Islamist groups since the beginning of March 2005.
