Islamists suspected of bomb attack
Algerian press reported on 8 June that the militant Islamist Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (SGPC) planted a bomb near the village of Ain Rich, 400 kilometres south of Algiers, that exploded on 7 June and killed 13 communal guards. The guards were travelling in a lorry on their way to a security operation when the bomb detonated near their vehicle. No member of the SGPC was spotted at the scene and newspaper reports suggested the bomb might have been planted some time ago ...
