ITB issued for debt conversion

France's Ministry of Economy, Finance & Industry has invited bids by 6 September for the contract to convert Algiers' Eur 61 million ($74.5 million) debt to France into private investments. French export credit agency Coface is handling the launch. The debt conversion will only be applicable to proposals for capital investment in local companies. The move follows French Economy Minister Nicolas Sarkozy's visit to the Algerian capital on 27 July, where he signed a memorandum with his counterpart
