Kidnapped tourists found
Seventeen tourists kidnapped in southern Algeria have reached safety and are preparing to return home, the army has announced. The rescue of the hostages, who include 10 Austrians, six Germans and a Swede, took place during an army assault on a hideout of the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC) on Tuesday. Further details of the raid were not given on the grounds of protecting the safety of a further 15 tourists who are still missing.
