Ten killed in Algerian fighting
Ten members of the Algerian security forces were killed on 17 December in an ambush by suspected Islamists, the second in less than a month. The eight soldiers and two pro-government militiamen were killed when they were attacked by a group of about 200 near Miliana, 120 kilometres west of Algiers.
