World Bank approves loan to Algeria

The World Bank on 29 April approved a $95 million loan to help combat unemployment in the rural mountainous areas of north-west and north-central Algeria. The bank said that poverty and unemployment in these areas were particularly high, and that conditions had worsened through persistent drought over the past decade.
