Algiers drops bid bond mining rule
Algiers has dropped its requirement for bid bonds for mining concessions, following controversial awards in the country's latest minerals licensing round in early June, according to a senior industry source.In at least one case, the company that submitted a strong technical and financial bid was disqualified from the competition because of non-compliance with bond requirements, despite the bond being underwritten by the National Bank of Algeria, according to the source.China's ...
