Cement plant sell-off nears
Bids are due by 31 May for companies to take a 35 per cent stake in Algeria's state-owned cement plants in the government's latest attempt to attract private investment into the sector. A previous effort to privatise the country's ailing cement industry in 2003 failed to reach fruition, as the terms were not sufficiently appealing to investors.
