Saudi Kayan awards contract to Taiwanese firm

Taiwan-based CTCI Corp has been awarded a contract by Saudi Kayan to manage the construction of a 210,000 tonne per year amines plant at its mega complex in Saudi Arabia, Reuters has reported, citing a source close to the matter. Under the deal, CTCI will manage the engineering, procurement and construction for the plant in Jubail. The main units of the complex are expected to start operations in the second half of 2010. The complex will have an annual production capacity of 6 million tonnes of petrochemicals including ethylene, propylene and ethylene glycol.
