ALGERIA: Picking up the pace

The next 12 months could be momentous for Algerian oil and gas. On 20 March, exploration and appraisal contracts on the sixth oil and gas international licensing round are due for award, and invitations to bid (ITBs) for a new gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant at Gassi Touil are also expected soon. Later this year, interested parties can expect the announcement of a seventh licensing round and the start of construction work on the much-vaunted Medgaz undersea pipeline.
