Canadians retreat from Berkine basin
Canada's First Calgary Petroleum (FCP) has informed state energy company Sonatrach of its intention to relinquish its interest in Rhourde Yacoub block 406a in the Berkine basin, southeast of Hassi Messaoud, from August, when its exploration licence expires. FCP will instead focus its exploration and commercialisation efforts on Ledjmet block 406b, which it also operates.
