Sonatrach is to be relieved of its public capacities, which will be taken on by two new, independent bodies. The national agency for hydrocarbons resource valorisation, to be known as ALNAFT, will be responsible for the oil and gas tendering process and the payment of taxes and royalties. A new hydrocarbons regulatory authority will oversee compliance with the new law and study applications for pipeline transportation and storage contracts;
