ChevronSasol thinks twice about GTL
The US' ChevronSasol is unlikely to bid for the estimated $2,500 million integrated gas-to-liquids (GTL) project to be set up at Tinhert. Three bidders were shortlisted in late 2005 for the development of the scheme, following the submission of technical bids. The others are the Royal Dutch/Shell Group and a consortium of South Africa's Petro SA with Norway's Statoil and the Anglo-Australian BHP Billiton. Commercial bids are due in June.
