Discovery at Berkine basin
A partnership of Sonatrach and Canada's First Calgary Petroleumhas made a new gas and condensate discovery in the Berkine basin, some 300 kilometres southeast of Hassi-Messaoud. Initial results from the drilling of MZLS-1 on Ledjmet block 405b indicated the presence of 51 metres of net hydrocarbon pay over multiple geological intervals.
