FCP confirms test success and discovery
Canada's First Calgary Petroleum (FCP) in late April announced the discovery of a new field in the Tagi zone of block 405b. Initial tests showed a flow of 8,667 barrels a day of oil and 6.8 million cubic feet a day of gas. 'Drilling activity on the block has been accelerated with three rigs now operating,' FCP president and chief executive officer Richard Anderson was quoted as saying. Also in the same block, the MLE-6 well showed a flow of 8,496 barrels of oil equivalent a day.
