Kufpec buys into Algerian field
State-owned Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (Kufpec) announced on 18 November that it had acquired a 40 per cent stake from the US' Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in Block 406 b, located in the Berkine basin. 'We have started a 2-D survey of the concession and it is expected to be completed by early 2003,' says Bader al-Khashti, Kufpec's chairman and managing director.
