New Berkine basin find
State-owned Sonatrach and the US' Anadarko Petroleum Corporationhave announced a new discovery in block 404 in the Berkine basin. The Berkine North East (BKNE) well tested at a rate of 3,400 barrels a day of 40° API oil. Anadarko is the operator of the block, and with partners Maersk Oil & Gasof Denmark and Italy's Eniholds a 49 per cent stake. Sonatrach holds the remainder.
