New gas deposit found in Timimoun Basin

State energy company Sonatrach announced on 10 May the discovery of a new gas deposit in the Timimoun basin in the Western Erg, the first to be found in the region. Tests on the well, located in the Hassi Mouina perimeter, flowed at a rate of 6 million cubic feet a day, making it an important discovery according to Sonatrach. The latest find is one of several new oil and gas discoveries in the last eight months (MEED 16:4:04; 13:2:04).
