New gas discovery at Reggane

Spain's Repsol YPF has announced the discovery of gas in the Reggane basin in Algeria's Sahara desert. The first well, Reggane 5, yielded 636,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d) while the second well, Sali 1, flowed at 100,000 cm/d. Both are on blocks 351c-352c, which cover an area of 12,217 square kilometres. Drilling at a third well, Kaklouche 2, is in progress along with a 2D seismic programme.
