New Sonatrach chief appointed

The Algerian government on 8 May announced the appointment of a new chief executive for state-owned oil company Sonatrach, Djamel Eddine Khene. Khene was previously vice-president of exploration and production. He replaces Energy & Mines Minister Chakib Khelil, who has held the position on a temporary basis for the past two years.
