Sonatrach acquires LNG tankers
State oil company Sonatrachsigned on 31 October deals with Itochu Corporation and Mitsui& Company, both of Japan, for the purchase of two 75,000-cubic-metre liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers. A financing agreement for the estimated $160 million contract has been signed between Sonatrach, its shipping subsidiary SNTM Hyprocand Calyon.
