Sonatrach shows Galsi intentions
State energy company Sonatrachhas signed a letter of intent (LoI) with Italy's Edisonto supply 4 billion cubic metres a year (bcm/y) of natural gas through the planned 900-kilometre Galsi pipeline to Italy. The agreement is one of at least 10 such LoIs signed by Sonatrach. The pipeline is expected to come on stream in 2009-10 with capacity of about 8 bcm/y and has the potential to be expanded at a later date.
