Transmed expansion brought forward
Italy's Eni has decided to accelerate the second-phase capacity expansion of the Tunisian section of the Transmed gas pipeline between Algeria and Italy by more than two years. Eni and state energy company Sonatrach originally agreed in May 2005 a capacity increase of 3,200 million cubic metres a year (cm/y) from 1 October 2008 and a further increase of 3,300 million cm/y from 1 October 2011.
