Abu Dhabi's retail space to double in two years

Abu Dhabi is set to ouptace Dubai in retail growth this year, the National has reported. According to forecasts by AT Kearney, Abu Dhabi will almost double its mall retail space in the next two years, with retail space in the emirate expected to grow from 700,000 sq metres of gross leasable area to roughly 1.2 million sq metres. At least four new malls will open their doors in the capital this year, including the first phase of Aldar's Central Market, Bawabat al Sharq, Paragon Point on Reem Island and 9712 mall near Musaffah.
