ABB wins Sonelgaz LDCs

Europe's ABBhas been awarded a $30 million contract to install five new electricity load dispatch centres (LDCs) and a related IT system for the majority state-owned power company, Sonelgaz. The centres, scheduled to start operation in early 2004, will improve the monitoring and control in transmission lines of power generated from the 247 power stations and substations that make up Sonelgaz's electricity supply network.
