Algiers to let city water network concessions
The management of water networks and systems in all of Algeria's cities is to be passed to the private sector, the government has announced, with operation and management (O&M) contracts expected to be signed for networks in seven cities by the end of 2006. Negotiations are under way between Algiers and France's Ondeoon an O&M contract for the capital's water infrastructure, and a contract is expected to be signed in September.
