State power company Sonelgaz is preparing to issue a tender at the end of October for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a gas-fired power plant 75 kilometres south of Algiers. The plant at Berroughia, in the Medea province, will be the first of several proposed new installations intended to boost the country's generation capacity.
