Sonelgaz signs protocol with Spain
State power company Sonelgazhas signed a framework agreement with Spanish electricity distributor Red Electricafor the latter to jointly operate a subsea cable intended to transmit electricity to Spain. The interconnection is provisionally planned to run between the coastal town of Marsa Ben Mehidi, close to Algeria's border with Morocco, and the southern Spanish city of Almeira.
