Press Release: Erbil International Airport marks 1st year as passenger numbers soar
In the 12 months from September, 2010 to 31 August, 2011, Erbil International Airport welcomed 555,714 passengers, a record breaking, 39% increase on the 399,603 pasengers during same period, the previous year. In September, 2010, the $365m airport enjoyed a 'soft opening', ahead of its formal launch by President Barzani and his guest Prime Minister Erdoggan of Turkey in March 2011.
