Etihad in talks with Airbus to delay A380 delivery

Abu Dhabi airline wants to bring forward other deliveries

Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways is in talks with the France-headquartered aeroplane company Airbus to delay the delivery of its A380 aircraft orders, Bloomberg reports.

Etihad says the delivery date of the 10 aircraft has been pushed back to 2013 from late 2012.

Other deliveries are being brought forward as the company aims to post a profit by the end of 2011. The airline is scheduled to take delivery of Airbus A330 jetliners by the end of 2010. The aircraft will be used on high-density routes such as London and Singapore and other destinations in Thailand and Australia.

Etihad was not available for comment.
