Oman Air to 'focus on profitability'
Peter Hill, CEO of Oman Air, has said that the airline will focus on becoming profitable by 2014 rather than on expanding its fleet further, Reuters has reported. "The focus is now on being self-supporting, paying back the government its funding and showing that you can run a profitable airline, even if it is a government-owned one, in the region," Hill told the news service at the ITB Berlin. Oman Air has a fleet of 21 aircraft including four Airbus A330s and 15 Boeing 737s, with 17 more planes on order.
