An award is due within weeks on an extension to the Algiers metro, as work moves ahead on the long-running project.Bidders for the civil works package on the estimated Eur 230 million ($317 million) extension to line 1 of the metro expect the contract to be awarded by the end of July.The extension will be 4 kilo-metres long with more than 2 kilometres of tunnels.
